Traveler information for Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties
What is 511?
Over the past decade, communities all over the United States have installed free one-stop traveler information systems that allow people to take control of their journeys and get personalized transportation information when, where and how they want to receive it.
Typically, travelers get updated information by going online or by calling 511 from any cell or land line phone. Personalized traffic information can also be delivered via email or mobile computing device.

Transportation planners are currently analyzing what it would take to create a traveler information system for the Monterey Bay Area. As part of this effort, we want to know the type of transportation information that would be most useful to local travelers and visitors and the preferred way to receive it.
