In January and February 2012, boards of the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) and the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) in Santa Cruz County received presentations on the findings of the draft Feasibility Study of 511 for the Monterey Bay Area. The primary finding is that partnering with an existing 511 service is the best model for delivering traveler information to the region. The project team will proceed  to further refine the costs, funding and partnership options during the next part of the project — developing a 511 Implementation Plan.

On February 3, 2011, the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission approved contracting with The ICx Transportation Group to prepare a Feasibility Analysis and Implementation Plan for a Monterey Bay Area 511 Traveler Information System.

The 511 RFP for the Monterey Bay Area is now available for review. Responses are due by January 6, 2011.

UPDATE:  On February 3, 2011, a contract was awarded for this RFP.
